Welcome to Moodle, the e-learning platform for Linking Hands: Myanmar Language and Culture Learning. Here you will be able to access activities and resources related to your course. You can access it from any Internet-connected computer or device by going to http://www.myanmarlanguageandculture.com/moodle/
You can also download the Moodle Mobile App for your mobile phone through Google Play Store or Apple App Store. As a client, you will only have access to the courses you are currently enrolled in. Please log in using your allocated username and password. Once you log in you will see a list of the courses you are enrolled in.
Linking Hands language and cultural training are divided into two broad levels, the Foundational Level and the Intermediary Level. Each of these has a number of sub-levels composed of a series of learning modules. Clients progress through the program using a staged approach by completing the required modules and corresponding progress checks at the end of designated modules.
Foundational Level:
This foundational course will provide you with survival/beginner skills for basic communication in the Myanmar language.
Foundation Communication Level (FCL)
This course has 6 modules of 25 units, developing your skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing Myanmar language through a range of topics including making friends, shopping, travelling, making arrangements, etc. You will also complete a Cultural Assignment during each unit to develop your cultural proficiency.
Intermediary Level:
Building upon the Foundational Communication Level the Intermediary Level has four courses: Pre-Intermediate Level (PIL), Pre-Intermediate Level+ (PIL+) and Intermediate Level (Int).
Pre-Intermediate Level (PIL)
This course takes you through similar topics as FCL, but at a deeper level. There are 5 modules of 22 units extending listening, reading, speaking and writing skills in topics such as small talk, giving simple instructions, retelling a simple story, talking about family, etc. Your Cultural Assignments continue throughout this course.
Pre-Intermediate Level+ (PIL+)
Following PIL, you will transition to the PIL+ course where 3 modules of 9 units on familiar topics are explored in more depth. This course focuses on strengthening all four core skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. There are no Cultural Assignments or formal assessments in this course.
Intermediate Level (Int)
This course of 20 units takes you through a range of listening, reading, speaking, and writing activities to mature language and cultural proficiency. For example Daily life, Festivals, Family relations, Literary Style, history, etc.
